To celebrate International Women’s Day, we’ve been talking about all the women who have inspired us.
We all had our favourites, some of them have changed the course of history, and others have made small but significant changes in their corner of the globe. One thing’s for sure though, the women of the world have certainly made their mark!
Which women can you think of who’ve influenced your life? Celebrate them in the comments section below.
Here’s just some of the women that inspired us at 12WBT:
Michelle Obama, Aung San Suu Kyi, Eva Peron, Marie Curie, Janet Yellen, Amelia Earhart, Benazir Bhutto, Kathryn Bigelow, Joan of Arc, Helen Keller, Tina Fey, Oprah, Rosa Parks, Lady Di, Simone de Beauvoir, Arianna Huffington, Malala Yousafzai, Edna Thompson, Beyonce, Julia Gillard, Margaret Chan, our Mums, Ellen Degeneres, Florence Nightingale, Toni Morrison, Maya Angelou, Eleanor Roosevelt, Indira Gandhi, Tegla Loroupe, Hillary Clinton, Shami Chakrabarti, Cathy Freeman
In honour of International Women’s Day on Saturday March 8, we’re celebrating some of our most inspirational 12WBT ladies. Together these five women have lost more than 150 kilos – and gained a whole lot of life!
Have you noticed the aisles full of gluten-free foods popping up in supermarkets lately? Food manufacturers are fostering a trend that’s becoming more and more popular. But is going gluten-free actually any healthier, and will it lead to weight loss.
Want to know what’s hot in the world of fitness and exercise? 12WBT’s fitness editor, Dan Swanbury, and Tim Pittorino, our program writer and exercise scientist, round up the top 10 fitness trends in 2014. They explain what the trends are and, more importantly, if they really work!
I’ll admit it – Round 4 was no walk in the park! Just when the finish line was in reach, we were dealt a double Red Flag Day – Christmas Day AND New Year’s Day. But my 12WBTers worked their butts off (I have the Christmas Day workout pics to prove it) and the results are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
